About workshop on Plasma-Assisted Combustion

The Workshop on Plasma-Assisted Combustion will be held 3-5 November, 2003 in Albuquerque, NM (USA) at the Marriott (Louisiana Blvd) Hotel.

An early (before 17 October) registration fee of $250 will be charged (including continental breakfasts, luncheons, refreshments, and copies of abstracts).

Abstracts (1 page, PDF format) will be due 10 October.
  • Physics/chemistry of effects of plasmas on flames and deflagration-to-detonation transition.
  • Use of plasmas to promote and/or improve efficiency in engines (automotive, aircraft, etc.).
  • Plasma sources (e.g., jets) for improved ignition.
  • Use of plasmas to enhance combustion in flames and/or burners.
  • Applications to aircraft pulsed detonation engines.
  • Applications to pollution reduction (i.e., combustion efficiency improvement - not exhaust cleaning).
  • Applications to fuel reforming/conversion (e.g., fossil fuel to hydrogen).

The topics of exhaust-gas/flue-gas cleaning are probably more appropriate to the May 2004 4th International Symposium on Non-Thermal Plasma Technology for Pollution Control and Sustainable Energy Development (Prof. Bruce Locke, Florida State Univ).
